No Double Jeopardy with God

Double jeopardy is a procedural defence that forbids a defendant from being tried again on the same (or similar) charges following a legitimate acquittal or conviction. (Wikipedia.org)
Once you're acquitted by a court of competence, either because you're guiltless or because you have fully been punished for your offence, YOU SHALL NOT AGAIN BE TRIED OVER THAT SAME OFFENCE.

In God's higher court, the same rule applies.
Jesus has taken your place in sin, so you can take His place in righteousness.

2Co 5:21
21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him. (KJV)

He has been punished for your sins.

1John 3:5
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.

Isaiah 53:5
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
It is also on records that he FULLY ACCOMPLISHED this task and came out ACQUITTED

Heb 1:3 AMP
..When He had by offering Himself ACCOMPLISHED our cleansing of sins and riddance of guilt, He sat down at the right hand of the divine Majesty on high..
The law of double jeopardy therefore holds and forbids you having to be tried for the same sins. No "fresh evidence", case closed!

So you're LEGALLY UNCHARGEABLE. You're legally righteous in the eye of the law.
Righteousness does not connote that you're infallible. It doesn't mean you cannot sin. It only means as it stands today, it has been made impossible to get you prosecuted for any sin you commit. Because when Jesus paid for your sins, you have not committed any (in fact, you have not been born). It means the sins were paid IN ADVANCE.

Hear this: Jesus paid not just for your "pre-salvation sins" as some have supposed. As much as post-salvation sinning is discouraged, you cannot pay for sins after salvation. Death is the wages of sin (Rom 6:23), and you cannot afford to die for sins. So, you better humble and believe Jesus has paid it all. Let not satan cheat you into thinking God will still punish you for your sins. God respects the rule of law very much. He will love you as a just man.
