Should we Speak in Tongues in a Mixed Gathering?

A brief chat:

Him: I don't believe we should allow tongues in our church services, because Bible said if you speak in tongues and one who is unbeliever comes in, how will he cope?

Me: No! What Paul actually said is that you should interpret your tongues for him, and not that you should not speak in tongues at all

Him: And when we cannot interpret, we shut up?

Me: No! You don't shut up! You keep speaking in tongues to yourself. He never said keep shut. Let me show you

1Co 14:28  But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

4 Common Misconceptions about the Holy Spirit – Part 2

Misconception #2 - YOU HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT BECAUSE OF SOMETHING YOU DID OR DO

I say first that it is essential for Christians to portray holiness in carriage, conduct and conversation. God wants us to live holy. Mankind wants it too.

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. (1 Peter 1:15-16 KJV)

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. (2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV)

Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: (Hebrews 12:14 KJV)

1Th 4:3  For this is the will of God, [even] your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:

However, you do not have the Holy Spirit because of something YOU did or do. Why then do you have the Holy Spirit? Let's see that from the bible (and not from the unrenewed mind)

And BECAUSE YE ARE SONS, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. (Galatians 4:6 KJV)

So why do you have the Spirit of His Son?
"Because ye are sons"… Simple!

Another reason?

(But this spake he of the Spirit, which THEY THAT BELIEVE on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet [given]; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.) (John 7:39 KJV)

So the Spirit was given BECAUSE JESUS HAS NOW BEEN GLORIFIED, and you have believed on Him. Faith is key here.

Let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the [Holy] Spirit as the result of obeying the Law and doing its works, or was it by hearing [the message of the Gospel] and BELIEVING [it]? [Was it from observing a law of rituals or from a message of faith?] (Galatians 3:2 AMP)

Then does He Who supplies you with His marvelous [Holy] Spirit and works powerfully and miraculously among you do so on [the grounds of your doing] what the Law demands, or because of your BELIEVING in and adhering to and trusting in and relying on the message that you heard? (Galatians 3:5 AMP)

In fact, you do not have the Holy Spirit because you ASKED or PRAYED earnestly. Yes! Jesus said the Father will give the Spirit to any that ask Him (Luke 11:13) but it is not in answer to your prayer you have the Spirit now, but in response to Jesus' prayer and RIGHTEOUSNESS.

And I {Jesus} will PRAY THE FATHER, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; (John 14:16 KJV)

Because there is NO criterion for obtaining the Holy Spirit: a man receives the Spirit, not by His doings of the Law but by faith.

So, no believer is "IN NEED" of the Holy Ghost! The believer is not to "desire" to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Why? You don't desire to have what you have, do you? If I have so much money that I'm the world richest man, can I ever "wish" or "pray" that I should have money? If you are born again, you already HAVE the Spirit. To ask for "more Holy Ghost", "fuller Holy Ghost", "refilling" is only another subtle voice of unbelief in you. What you have is ALL that may be had of the Spirit – "without measure". (John 3:34)

Now the response of each believer to the Spirit may be different. That is why not all believers seem to manifest the abilities of the Spirit. The believer who is fulfilling the works of the flesh is doing so because he is not walking in the Spirit, not because He is void of the Spirit. (Gal 5:16). ALL believers have the Spirit. Don't get intimidated in any way by how some believers have reacted in the Holy Ghost to begin to contemplate changing your confession. Don't forget it is "by faith". YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT IF YOU ARE BORN AGAIN! "Let us hold fast the profession of [our] faith without wavering; (for he [is] faithful that promised;)" (Hebrews 10:23 KJV). Oh! "let God be true, but every man a liar" (Romans 3:4 KJV) It is one Spirit in us all by one and the same sacrifice! (Eph 4:4-6).

4 Common Misconceptions About The Holy Spirit - 1

MISCONCEPTION #1: THE HOLY SPIRIT DWELLS ONLY IN SOME SELECT BELIEVERS

But that's not true! ALL believers have the Spirit of God in them. John says there cannot be a believer without the Spirit of God in Him.

Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. (1 John 4:15 KJV)

We understand that true confession is a product of one's belief. "I believe, therefore I speak…" (2Cor 4:13). So we can paraphrase 1John 4:15 as "Whosoever shall confess, having believed, that Jesus is the Son of God… God dwells in him! So whether a baby Christian or grown up one, our confession is the same, God dwells in all of us! And this habitation of God is THROUGH THE SPIRIT.

In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God THROUGH THE SPIRIT. (Ephesians 2:22)

So you cannot again say "He has God, but not the Holy Spirit".

Now, never mind the way the Acts of the Apostles was written; where the apostles will after salvation pray for believers to receive the Holy Spirit. They said this because they were learners.

Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John: Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) (Acts 8:14-16 KJV)

Oh no! They had received the Holy Spirit, because they had confessed Jesus to be the Son of God. Paul says the Spirit is the seal that comes AFTER a person believes.

In whom ye also [trusted], after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise, (Ephesians 1:13 KJV)

But because the day they (the twelve) received the Holy Ghost in Acts 2, they spoke in tongues and saw many other things happen, this experience made them to think until you speak in tongues like they did, you don't have the Holy Ghost. They carried on with this mentality almost throughout the book of Acts. Nevertheless, we have several evidences they later understood the truth. They were men too who must grow in understanding: knowledge did not drop on them like Holy Ghost: they had to grow in it.

It was Peter and JOHN who came to "pray down Holy Ghost", it is the same John who will later write: "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God." And again, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is IN YOU, than he that is in the world." (1 John 4:4 KJV)
Even Peter will later submit: "for the spirit of glory and OF GOD resteth upon you" (1 Peter 4:14 KJV)

Paul finishes it off when he said, "if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his." (Romans 8:9 KJV)
But if anyone does not possess the [Holy] Spirit of Christ, he is none of His [he does not belong to Christ, is not truly a child of God]. (Romans 8:9 AMP)
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and [that] the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16 KJV)

Surely every believer in Christ is filled with the Spirit of God. Oh! It is the earnest of our inheritance. How can you claim to have all things except what is the earnest of our inheritance? That can only happen because you're not one of us. God happily dwells in all of His sons. Alleluia!

God's Spirit does not leave the Believer

One of our Praise Song goes…
create in me a clean heart oh Lord
And renew right spirit within me
Cast me not away from thy presence oh Lord
Take not thy holy spirit from me
Restore unto....

Haba! But Let's see the Bible

See David didn't want to lose the Holy Spirit..
Hmm... But we don't dwell in the same dispensation. The Holy Spirit comes into the believer at salvation and He has come TO STAY!

He DWELLS in the believer FOR BETTER, FOR BETTER!
FOREVER!

[Joh 14:16] KJV And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you FOR EVER;

You remember the encounter of Jesus with the Samaritan woman?

Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life. [Joh 4:13-14]

Water here is symbolic of the Spirit (John 7:39)

He says to her, if you can have this water; normally when you take of water, the quantity reduces, but this will increase and become a well. Well is symbolic for STABILITY, UNSHAKABILITY, ASSURANCE, FIXED STRUCTURE, PERMANENCE source. A source that is fixed, immovable.

Now, to thirst means to be in short of water, right? To thirst for this Jesus' kind of water will therefore mean to lack the Spirit.

But Jesus says that man "shall NEVER THIRST AGAIN". Hmmm...

Now, at salvation, a Christian takes of this water.

For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been ALL MADE TO DRINK INTO ONE SPIRIT. (1Corinthians 12:13)

Only ignorance therefore could have made Christians who have taken this water (at salvation) keep reciting David: "my soul pants like a deer", "I thirst for you…", "fill my cup…"

I am not saying don't be hungry anymore, but please be definite about what you're hungry or thirsty for. It cannot be for the Holy Spirit as we just see. It cannot be for "more of the Spirit" as some people often hide under. God doesn't give the Spirit in quantity (John 3:34). There's no 5kg Holy Spirit, 60% Holy Spirit, etc.

So Jesus says to the drinker of His water he will NEVER lack that Spirit anymore. He will never have to come back for another bucket of Holy Spirit, or another "filling of the Spirit", because he will have a well of water springing up unto everlasting life.

So unlike David, Unlike Saul, unlike Samson… God will NEVER leave the believer

[Psalm 37:25] I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken...

Therefore if you're among "the righteous", you will NEVER be forsaken.

Every man that has received the gospel has been made righteous by faith. "Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness." (Gal 3:6)  And this is not produced, maintained, altered, made or marred by (good or bad) works: he is righteous as long as God his righteousness is. So he can never fall out of the covenant of "never forsaken"

Sorry for being so sharp (if I have been) but I must say it because this is what promotes holy living everywhere. When you are always conscious that the Spirit of God dwells in you, that alone means fleeing every appearance of evil.

You needed to see how Paul corrected fornication amongst brethren in Corinth.

[1Corinthians 6:18-20] Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Wow! He did it by reminding them of how the Holy Ghost is in them. He reminds them of how that they are redeemed: "ye are bought with a price".

I thought he would be telling them that that partner they had fornication with had 21 demons that are so powerful to kill their own Holy Ghost. And Paul should tell them to come out and be "born again again" and receive the Holy Spirit afresh.

Tell a Christian who still watches pornography that he is bought with a price! Tell the Christian who still tell lies that he is bought with a price!

Let's do a simple arithmetic. What percentage of Christians today know, believe and preach that all of them have the Holy Spirit in them?

OK how many of those who even know this also know, believe and preach that this Holy Spirit dwells in them FOREVER?

Few of the fewest, right?
Does this not explain why there's so much sins in today's church?

Look at it, if a woman wants to dress or live indecently, she's got to say "I'm the owner of my body. I can live my life the way I want it". Have you ever encountered people who say "well, me I've given up on making heaven, since the Holy Spirit has left me because I can't retain Him by living holy"? Now, why do they say this? Because you didn't teach them the truth that the Holy Spirit will NEVER leave them.

Whether taught or disregarded, truth is unchanged! The Holy Spirit is here to stay! You are enslaved to live in righteousness and produce good works. God won't let go of you. The Holy Spirit will stay at His duty post and won't run because of sins. Why? He was sent to help fight sin and so won't retreat for sin's sake! Praise God!

The Holy Spirit doesn't want you to put yourself into "trouble"

Acts 15:19 KJV
Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:
You see, the Holy Spirit does not want you troubled. He doesn't want you burdened. no! Not in any way. Now what is "trouble"? What is "burden"?
The law is "trouble": to "command to keep the law of Moses" is "burden". It is yoke and a tempting of God to try to do this. Did I singlehandedly promulgate this? No. Scriptures did.

07/03/2014

The inner witness says you're righteous

Many times when we commit a sin, we feel God must be bitter at us, feel The Holy Ghost is angry too. Oh! God is bitter at sin, true! God and sin are enemies, true! But God will have to first reckon on Jesus' appeasing sacrifice and never will the wrath get to you.

How to know the will of God for you in any situation

About to make a decision?
About to take a very crucial step in your life?
Care about knowing what the will of God for you is?
Standing at a crossroad?
Today's edition is for you. Welcome!

We have learnt in a previous study how that you are compulsorily led by the Spirit of God if you are born again; and how that that is an act of grace, giving you the options of receiving the leading or rejecting it. Whether you have always been rejecting the will of God up till now or not, you will testify if you are a child of God how that God has been faithful in ensuring He has continued to lead you in spite of your seldom disobedience. Thank God for that testimony. If you do not have such testimony, ah! You're not born again! Because:

Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God's children] share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all]. (Hebrews 12:8 AMP)
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself... (1 John 5:10 KJV)
So don't you think it's high time you received Jesus? Come on!

Some Few Things You Must Never Call the Leading of the Spirit or the Will of God

I share with you some laughable things most Christians often call the "will of God" but it is not. I call them laughable that you may see how unwise you've been in following after these "beggarly" ways.
Yes! It's normal that every serious minded Christian desires to know the "will of God" and to get the right step per time. But some in ignorance birthed by laziness have found themselves in these "pits" in the name of "will of God". Better put this title as, "what the will of God is not".

Frustration/Failure

Wow! Every New Testament saint of God must be careful about accepting their frustration as the leading of the Spirit. Now this is what I mean.

You are Led by The Spirit of God! - An Act of Grace

There might be a holy desire in you if you are born again to be receiving the leadings of the Spirit of God. Everyone wants to make best decisions. No one wants to run into mistakes. No one wants to run into losses. Men are so blind without a Guide. That's why people turn to so-called "prophets", diviners, stargazers etc, because they'll like to know what step is next and best in their life. In short, an undeniable need in everyone's life is the need to be guided by a supernatural power somewhere. But good news to the Christian! We are led by the Almighty Himself!

It's so real! It's so true! We have access to the Father and God of the universe's leading.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14 KJV)

What is sin against the Holy Ghost? What is the unpardonable sin?

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come. (Matthew 12:31-32)

This passage of scripture is often not understood, misunderstood, or ignored for confusion. What is the sin against the Holy Ghost as described by Jesus? The sin is said to be unpardonable; so let me know it so I can avoid it. So here we go. Father we open your hearts to receive enlightenment from Your word. Amen!

Can we see how others render this same word that Jesus spoke?

Do all speak with tongues? Explained

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
(1 Corinthians 12:30 KJV)

This is a verse that may confuse you. “But you people say all can speak with tongues. That is just sheer zeal and it’s not biblical because 1Cor 12:30 says do all peak with tongues?” No. oh sorry! Before you conclude that verse to mean that, why not let’s take it from where the talk really began.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. (1 Corinthians 12:27-31 KJV)
God by order set in the church, apostles, prophets, teachers, after that miracles… diversities of tongues. So are all apostles? No! Are all prophets? No! Contextually, Paul is saying, administratively, all cannot be in control of the body at the same time, so God did that setting in the church that there be no schisms in the body. So Paul is only talking about ministry gifts here.

In administration, submissiveness is the key. That you are placed above me does not mean I cannot do what you are appointed to do, just that I am not called into that officially and that does not call for envy speaking or rude speech but submitting one to another in the fear of God. So we can read that verse again and answer this way. Are all apostles? No. but can any follow as a messenger in the assignment God has called him into? Yes! Are all prophets? No. Can any minister prophetically as occasion demands? Yes! Are all teachers? No. Can every Christian teach the word of God? In fact, Jesus called us to go “teaching them to observe…” (Matt 28:20). Are all workers of miracle? No, (in the sense of ministry). But can all work miracles? Yes! “these signs shall follow them that believe”. Have all the gifts of healing? No (in the sense of ministry). But any Christian can minister healing. What about help? All must help one another in one way or the other or at one stage of ministry or another, yet there is a ministry of help. So it is with tongues. All Christians can speak with tongues and all must. As we have shown in previous articles, how ALL responded to the Holy Spirit in beginning to speak as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Next we shall begin to examine the MUST of speaking in tongues. Why is it essential? Why must I be restless from this day if I’m not able to speak in tongues. Why must I desire this Holy Ghost experience? Just keep posted, or even subscribe for our updates to receive alerts for subsequent posts.

Everybody can be baptised in the Holy Ghost, All can speak in tongues

I would that ye all spake with tongues (1 Corinthians 14:5 KJV)

In case you have read the above text, and have interpreted it to mean, “I wish that ye all speak with tongues”, that is, Paul would have loved it if everyone could speak whereas it’s rarely possible, be patient with the text and probably read again. They say, “if wishes were horses, beggars will ride”. But this is not a dream! A better reading of it reveals that Paul is only saying “I permit that all of you speak in tongues (as you all can) but…” or “I didn’t say you shouldn’t speak in tongues oh Corinthian Church, but what I'm saying is…”

I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. (1 Corinthians 14:5 KJV)

This is the good news everyone should believe. Bravo! Jesus died! Jesus rose! Jesus prayed the Father, today we have the Holy Ghost because we have identified with Jesus!

And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as [he did] unto us, WHO BELIEVED ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST; what was I, that I could withstand God? (Acts 11:15-17 KJV)

This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by THE HEARING OF FAITH? (Galatians 3:2 KJV)
He therefore that ministereth to you the SPIRIT, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he it] by the works of the law, or BY THE HEARING OF FAITH? Even as ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. (Galatians 3:5-6 KJV)

So we reckon that If we can BELIEVE THE GOSPEL, we can receive the Holy Spirit of promise and speak with tongues, magnifying God.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:39 KJV)

Speaking in tongues is not a special gift for a few! All can commune with the Spirit’s utterance!

For the promise is unto YOU, and to YOUR CHILDREN, and TO ALL that are afar off, [even] as MANY as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:39 KJV)

Awesome! For YOU! For your children (or parents as the case may be), and for many afar off who will respond to the call of salvation! Everybody! Males and females alike! Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, servants and free, as many as will believe!

BELIEVERS will be given the power to perform miracles: they will drive out demons in my name; they will SPEAK IN STRANGE TONGUES; (Mark 16:17 GNB)

And they were ALL filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words]. (Acts 2:4 AMP)
In the house of Cornelius, the man who had freshly received salvation with his household, Peter had not concluded his message, the Holy Ghost had been poured on ALL.

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on ALL THEM WHICH HEARD THE WORD. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God… (Acts 10:44-46 KJV)

Please don’t cheat yourself. Don’t resist your privilege! You can speak with tongues says the scriptures. You can receive this ability by either of the following.

  • Seeking for yourself

Several testimonies of people who sought God without any one having to pray for them, and they began to speak with tongues. God is faithful! He will always honour His word.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if [he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Luke 11:9-13 KJV)

  • hearing this message and releasing your faith towards it

When you receive the word like this, it stirs up faith. So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17). So when you respond, there is enough faith for receiving. I have heard such testimonies too. You send an article to someone on this subject and that person takes it up, believes and begins to speak. Such was the case of the household of Cornelius. No laying of hands, in fact, no praying. They simply began to speak as “the Holy Ghost fell on all them which HEARD THE WORD” (Acts 10:44). Faith is the keyword here. This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by THE HEARING OF FAITH? (Galatians 3:2 KJV). It’s what actually determine whether you receive or not, no matter which method you employ.

  • Laying of hands

You can proceed to this method if you can’t receive by any of the above methods, no worries at all. The people at Samaria received this way.

Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then LAID THEY [THEIR] HANDS ON THEM, and they received the Holy Ghost. (Acts 8:15-17 KJV)

So dear saint, if God has released this gift to you, it surely means you need it! Take it today! Encourage others to do the same. Recommend our articles to people you know might need them for better enlightenment! You can also translate it for them. Extend the hand of love to someone today! Bless someone today! Teach someone to speak in tongues today! Pray for someone to speak in tongues today! Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. (Galatians 6:6 KJV)
Stay blessed!

Let him who receives instruction in the Word [of God] share all good things with his teacher [contributing to his support]. (Galatians 6:6 AMP) We appreciate you comments. Some common misconceptions/wrong teachings that have hindered many from speaking in tongues

I say fanatically, that speaking in tongues is true, it’s scriptural, and it’s contemporary.

It has nothing to do with denomination whether you are Orthodox or Pentecostal or whatever. You simply need to be a Christian to speak in tongues. You simply need to be of a bible-believing denomination, to accept the gospel message of which tongues-speaking is an indispensable part! You don’t become a Pentecostal because you have started to speak! You have not altered the fundamental doctrines of your church if you preach tongue-speaking except your church is not built on biblical doctrines.

Diverse experiences of people that have had to do with some so-called prophets of God might have made them to conclude in unbelief and hence derision of the gifts of God. But you could as well conclude there are no Christians on earth because all Christians around you have proven unchristianly. What a hell-bound hasty generalisation! Have you found fake gifts?

Holy Ghost Baptism: Common hindrances to receiving

I have prayed but I still don’t speak in tongues. What could be wrong with me?

1. Negative mindset

If you have a negative prejudiced mind about tongues-speaking, you could get sceptical or critical against it. You may read our article on The common misconceptions and negative bias people have about speaking in tongues. Such devilish doctrines pollute your mind such that even when you would have started to speak, you are “afraid” that you are not correct; or it seems to you that you are only trying to imitate some regular tongues you hear around. No! you are not imitating! Don’t be afraid yours isn’t so smooth as others, just go on!

What must I do to speak in tongues or be "baptised in the Holy Ghost"?

Yes! Now I agree that tongues-speaking is for everyone that believe sir. But I don’t and I desire to speak in tongues too. Please pray for me. Please what may i do?

Requirements/pre-requisite to Holy Ghost Baptism, in-filling, and the “upon” manifestation

Be born again, be born again, be born again!

The only question I will ask is this:

What is this speaking in tongues? Explain scripturally that i may understand

For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. (Isaiah 28:11 KJV)

Tongues-speaking is speaking in the power of God in an unknown language. It is a wonder of God (Acts 2:11). It is the wisdom of God (1Cor 2:7). It is an expression of our recreated spirit as influenced by the Holy Ghost. It is a product of the New Birth experience (Acts 10:44), i.e. we have it because we believe in Jesus, because we are born again! Thus it is for everyone that believes (Mark 16:17). Thus it can be seen as part of the gospel characteristic: Christ came, Christ died, Christ arose, and He is seated at the right hand of the Father, therefore I can speak in tongues!

When the household of Cornelius heard the gospel message, they spoke in tongues and magnified God! They just could not imagine such a marvellously loving God and the passion of His Christ. They gave heed and blasted out in unknown tongues just as it happened in Acts 2. Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever! (Heb 13:8) He can repeat it again  and again, over and over!
