What is this speaking in tongues? Explain scripturally that i may understand

For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. (Isaiah 28:11 KJV)

Tongues-speaking is speaking in the power of God in an unknown language. It is a wonder of God (Acts 2:11). It is the wisdom of God (1Cor 2:7). It is an expression of our recreated spirit as influenced by the Holy Ghost. It is a product of the New Birth experience (Acts 10:44), i.e. we have it because we believe in Jesus, because we are born again! Thus it is for everyone that believes (Mark 16:17). Thus it can be seen as part of the gospel characteristic: Christ came, Christ died, Christ arose, and He is seated at the right hand of the Father, therefore I can speak in tongues!

When the household of Cornelius heard the gospel message, they spoke in tongues and magnified God! They just could not imagine such a marvellously loving God and the passion of His Christ. They gave heed and blasted out in unknown tongues just as it happened in Acts 2. Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever! (Heb 13:8) He can repeat it again  and again, over and over!

Today, men believe the gospel and can immediately begin to speak in tongues! No waiting! No post-dated cheque! No “come back tomorrow”! They begin on the note of power. We can be radical in our expression of the faith of Jesus Christ! It’s worth it! We have a sure foundation! Christ is real! Tongue-speaking is real! The supernatural is real! Born again is real!

It is to speak unto God mysteries
For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding]. (1 Corinthians 14:2 AMP)
It is to speak/pray IN THE (the power of) Spirit
For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, BECAUSE IN THE [HOLY] SPIRIT he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding]. (1 Corinthians 14:2 AMP)

But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, (Jude 1:20)
It is to pray with your spirit
For if I pray in an [unknown] tongue, MY SPIRIT prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray WITH THE SPIRIT, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing WITH THE SPIRIT, and I will sing with the understanding also. (1 Corinthians 14:14-15 KJV)

Tongues-speaking is the vocal expression of the inward man (Rom 8:21). There is a language in the spirit realm where God is the Father of spirits (Heb 12:9).
At the same time the Spirit also helps us in our weakness, because we don't know how to pray for what we need. But the Spirit intercedes along with our GROANS THAT CANNOT BE EXPRESSED IN WORDS. (Romans 8:26 GW)

It’s not understood; it is communicated. Call it: communication without understanding. Words too high for grammatical construction! The structure of English language like every other language could be a little rigid, strict, reticent and inexpressive; but our spirits can outwit this scholastic framework. Charisma can beat off courtesy. Senses, planning and devising are made to step aside for a glorious and triumphant march in spiritual warfare.

To conclude with, is this warning:

Warning
In whatever of the above four categories you may fall into, Never play down on tongues-speaking!  Whether you speak in tongues or not, it is real! The effects are undeniable! It is scriptural! It should not be forbidden (1Cor 14:29). Don’t let too much knowledge throw you off into pride. You are proud when you neglect or despise the manifestations of the Spirit. What else would help us if not the Spirit? We believe, thus we are able to speak in tongues

So [to conclude], my brethren... do not forbid or hinder speaking in [unknown] tongues. (1Corinthians 14:39 AMP)

You can speak in tongues once again now. Come on!

Oops!  I'm not able to speak in tongues but i wish to. Any help?
