Why you must forget about Angel Michael, Gabriel and others

Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV)
Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. (1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV)

I started with these scriptures to remind us how that although we are born again, we are not immune to evil manners as long as we are found in a circle of evil friends. But "Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." (Psalms 1:1-2 KJV)

What an angel does, who he is, is not going to be deeply delved into in this article, (some other day hopefully, watch out!)

However, certain names ring about in the church circle commonly acclaimed to be names of some of the angels of God. Some three most common ones are: angel Michael, angel Gabriel, and angel Uriel. There have been several ridiculous and non-ridiculous teachings around about these angels also, but what does the bible teaches about these beings?

Why the Incarnation of Jesus?

Why the Incarnation? Why must God become a man?

Incarnation means the living embodiment of a deity. It is how God became man in the person of Jesus Christ.

The Incarnation is factual, real and true.
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called THE SON OF GOD. (Luke 1:35 KJV)

Two things you must know:
  1. Jesus is God
  2. Jesus is a man

Of what essence is christmas?

Christmas here is supposedly to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. However in examining of what essence is Christmas, this article withdraws from analysing questions such as "was Jesus truly born at December?", "history of Christmas", "who started Christmas?", and similar questions. But this will we do… what is the significance of Christmas? What is the implication or importance of Christ's birth? And our answer is simple!

God wants your household saved too

And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved, AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD.
(Acts 16:31 MKJV)

We have learnt extensively on this blog how that salvation is not for a "predestined" few (in God's Salvation Plan - Salvation for All). Do you dream it to see you and EVERY member of your family in the same spiritual fervour and height as you? Do you dream to see ALL of your family members gather together to worship Jesus with you? Imagine seeing ALL of your friends, your spouse, your house neighbours; altogether come to the knowledge of the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Well, to answer that this is possible is a very contemptible statement. God has done it! The Father not only wants all to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1Timothy 2:4), the Father not only do not desire that any should perish, He has also made available the resources for you oh son of God to reach and win over the blind over to Him.

It’s your right to live!

In church gatherings, there is a common saying which I often hear. It goes like this…

"Lord I thank You for sparing my life till today. It's not by my might. It's not by my power. It's just by Your grace and mercy. There are many who would have loved to see today, but they are no more. It's not that I am better than them. It's not that I am more righteous than them. It's not that I am more faithful and obedient than them. It's not that I can pray and study the word than them. It's not that I love God more than them. It's just by Your sovereign act of kindness toward me.

Hmm… what a confession! But don't get carried away with that…

What then is the Gospel? (2) - GSP 18

In the last session, we examined how that the gospel means "good news" and that an evangelist is a publisher of good news.

In this session, I want us to better appreciate the simplicity and power of the gospel. There is no sophistry or complication in the news.

It is news, not some commandment. It is a notification, not instructions! For example, "the Government of Nigeria has declared a curfew in some parts of the city", that is a notification. "This is to notify all members of this organisation that due to the ongoing administrative restructuring, there shall be a 50% cut in the salary of all staff. Also there will be no more free lunch. All administrative privileges of senior staff such as official car etc., are hereby suspended". That is news; but what a sad one! "The reader of this article has been awarded a present of $90,000,000", this one is a notification, and a good news! But the gospel is better than this one!

What then is the Gospel? GSP 17

What gospel saved us? What did we believed unto salvation?
The word gospel is the greek word euaggelizō (εὐαγγελίζω) coined from two words:
Eu – which means good, well; and
Aggelos – This means messenger, pastor; from where we got the word "angel".

To preach the gospel therefore means to be a messenger of good tidings. To euaggelizō (from where we got the word "evangelize") means to convey or be an angel of the good news to some people to whom you are sent.

as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that euaggelizō of PEACE, and bring GLAD TIDINGS of good things! (Romans 10:15 KJV)

What does it mean to “be born of water and of the Spirit”?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. (John 3:5 KJV)
Welcome today to sweet bible study! We shall be seeing into this word used by Jesus with a view to understanding what it means.

Just like many other words of Jesus, many have found this term difficult to explain. Even though everyone is entitled to his own opinion, we can spot out any fallacious interpretation of scripture wherever we find it if only we hold on to a guide submitting to the Spirit. Alleluia!

First, I want to say that this word "be born of water and the Spirit" should not so much worry the Christian. It never gave Nicodemus to whom that word was spoken to so much a headache in finding its interpretation as it seems to be giving most Gentile Christians today. There are proofs Nicodemus got the message Jesus was passing; and I think any Jewish man would also grab it easily because it was a Jewish terminology. But a gentile Christian may not understand it.

How did we get saved? GSP 16

 see previous Part 15

Jesus said anyone who believes the gospel shall be saved.
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:16 KJV)
We got saved when we heard the news that we have been set free. We heard the gospel and we believed, so we got saved.
This is the sequence according to Romans 10
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall (1) call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they (1) call on him in whom they have not (2) believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not (3) heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they (4) preach, except they be (5) sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! (Romans 10:12-15 KJV)

How to know the will of God for you in any situation

About to make a decision?
About to take a very crucial step in your life?
Care about knowing what the will of God for you is?
Standing at a crossroad?
Today's edition is for you. Welcome!

We have learnt in a previous study how that you are compulsorily led by the Spirit of God if you are born again; and how that that is an act of grace, giving you the options of receiving the leading or rejecting it. Whether you have always been rejecting the will of God up till now or not, you will testify if you are a child of God how that God has been faithful in ensuring He has continued to lead you in spite of your seldom disobedience. Thank God for that testimony. If you do not have such testimony, ah! You're not born again! Because:

Now if you are exempt from correction and left without discipline in which all [of God's children] share, then you are illegitimate offspring and not true sons [at all]. (Hebrews 12:8 AMP)
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself... (1 John 5:10 KJV)
So don't you think it's high time you received Jesus? Come on!

“I’m not water-baptized. Can I make it to heaven if I die without it?”

Wow! Intelligent questions require intelligent answers. Desperate to know the truth! Not gonna hide it! Let Bible be standard. "Oh God, what do you say concerning water baptism? I have not been baptized in water for some reasons; or I have been baptized still would love to know what would have happened if I had not. What does the scripture has to say?"

Seeking bible truth on water baptism? We once published a post on What the Bible teaches on water baptism. Read it: it's a little in-depth than this. You're blessed!

Jesus is honoured in this place. The reader receives illumination in His name. Amen!

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. (Mark 16:15-16 KJV)
And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with [them], and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. (Mark 16:20 KJV)

What is this salvation? GSP 15

Salvation means a state of being saved; being salvaged; being rescued; being made free from an impending disaster.

"Save yourselves from the punishment coming on this wicked people!" (Acts 2:40 GNB)
I love to use this example. Salvation is like unto a man who can't swim but had his boat unfortunately capsized in the sea. Drowned until he could no longer cry out for help and was already staring death in the face; some men came to "rescue" him, treat him till he is okay. And at the end, he says, "thank you for saving my life". You remember a similar story in the bible? That man going from Jerusalem to Jericho… a man who was neither a Levite nor a priest (Law nor prophet), came to his rescue. We understand that wounded man to be humanity. He was half-dead; thank God! That is, his situation (death) was not irredeemable. The Samaritan showed up and paid his bill for treatment. Hmm! That story was more than teaching us who our neighbour is. It is saying, we (law and prophets and all carnal offices) cannot love our neighbour (fellow wounded men) as ourselves, but Jesus is that good neighbour who will pay our bills with His blood. Jesus is the One of "whom of Moses in the law did write" (John 1:45) when He said "love your neighbour as yourself". Do I mean men should forget about loving one another? Certainly not! But that we should lean upon Jesus so we can know to love. Recall about that disciple that leaned upon Jesus' breast (John 21:20): see how he became an apostle who taught love best. Anyway, love isn't the topic for today: but actually it is the topic for everyday.
Humanity was in crisis owing to "the fall of man" in Adam. There was an impending disaster indeed. But God did not react, because He cannot be caught unaware. He is not shocked Adam ate the fruit. But why then did He not stop Adam, you may want to ask? Wait till the next session where we explain Predestination and God's Supremacy. One thing must have been clear if you have been following this series, God could not have had a part in the fall of man. Instead, He is the brain behind The Restoration – the Redemption.
Their Redeemer is strong; the Lord of hosts is His name. He will surely and thoroughly plead their case and defend their cause, that He may give rest to [the land of Israel and to the Babylonian-enslaved nations of] the earth… (Jeremiah 50:34 AMP)
Today, God's salvation Plan has been unveiled and carried out; such that Jesus sits today at the right hand of the Father, expecting till His enemies be made His footstool. He has done all required to redeem all flesh. A saved man is therefore not in anticipation of any disaster to come. He has been rescued. Alleluia!

Some Few Things You Must Never Call the Leading of the Spirit or the Will of God

I share with you some laughable things most Christians often call the "will of God" but it is not. I call them laughable that you may see how unwise you've been in following after these "beggarly" ways.
Yes! It's normal that every serious minded Christian desires to know the "will of God" and to get the right step per time. But some in ignorance birthed by laziness have found themselves in these "pits" in the name of "will of God". Better put this title as, "what the will of God is not".

Frustration/Failure

Wow! Every New Testament saint of God must be careful about accepting their frustration as the leading of the Spirit. Now this is what I mean.

What Really is Grace?

Grace fundamentally is a kindness, favour shown towards someone that is undeserved, unmerited, unearned, unsolicited, and requiring no contribution of the receiver; and this grace is always commensurate to the “fatness” and generosity of the giver.
For grace to be grace, according to the above definition,

It must be an act of kindness

You are Led by The Spirit of God! - An Act of Grace

There might be a holy desire in you if you are born again to be receiving the leadings of the Spirit of God. Everyone wants to make best decisions. No one wants to run into mistakes. No one wants to run into losses. Men are so blind without a Guide. That's why people turn to so-called "prophets", diviners, stargazers etc, because they'll like to know what step is next and best in their life. In short, an undeniable need in everyone's life is the need to be guided by a supernatural power somewhere. But good news to the Christian! We are led by the Almighty Himself!

It's so real! It's so true! We have access to the Father and God of the universe's leading.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. (Romans 8:14 KJV)

6 Reasons we do not need to make vows unto God Anymore

Make our minds enlightened Father, Amen!
Before we examine why we do not need to make vows unto God anymore, I thinks it is essential to look into why we needed vows in the first place. Why do people make vows? People would give various answers such as below.

  1. To access the heavens and reach God faster
  2. To express our desperation and sacrificial attitude
  3. To appease God to forgive us and ignore our inadequacy
  4. To "challenge" or "blow up" God's mind
  5. To put God to test
  6. Because it's one of the principles by which God works in scripture
Follow closely as we look into these reasons of people and as we see how true they really are

“I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy” Explained (II) – salvation for All 14

We ended the last section [Salvation for All Part 13] with questions:
Isn't this "whom I will have mercy" again pointing to a hidden agenda and bigoted plan of God? Who are the ones whom God has chosen to have mercy on? Who are the ones God has concluded to have compassion on? We also concluded that we cannot buy God's mercy by prayer and fasting and vigils. Yes, we cannot pray that God should have mercy on us because God has concluded on whom He will have mercy on; and that "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy" is only an information to be heard; not to be reacted to, not to be questioned. No man's opinion is being sought. We heard it just to know what is to come. This is unlike many other prophecies, where you begin to "forbid bad thing" and bind the devil.
Then, with Moses, it was a prophecy. Today I can tell you it's fulfilled already! Mercy is at work already. On whom did God finally had mercy as promised? On "All Flesh"; every creature; all men. And He did this in Christ Jesus! Jesus Christ is the mercy of God on the perishing humanity

6 Things Water Baptism Is Not or Cannot Do

Thank God for another time to share in the Word! We just take a glance at some six things water baptism cannot or does not do. Recall that we took on a topic sometimes ago on "What the bible teaches on water baptism". Hope you enjoyed that then? Without wasting time, let's go!!

Water Baptism does not equal salvation

I think a lot of people should not have problem with this. Salvation apart, water baptism apart! In no way is a man who is water-baptised saved by it. Water baptism is works, salvation is grace through faith. Water baptism is "of yourselves": salvation is "the gift of God". Anyone could boast of water baptism because it is of works; but none can boast of salvation because it is of grace. Thus, in no way is water baptism equal to salvation.
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
    (Ephesians 2:8-9 KJV)

What does the bible teach on water baptism?

What is water baptism? What does the bible says on water baptism? How should I do water baptism? Why should have a water baptism? Should I have my water baptism at all? Need Biblical approach to this topic? Sit, relax and pay attention with or without your bible around. We'll be blessed, promises to be a sweet time in bible study today again. Don't forget to share, tell a friend about this teaching if you think it would interest them too. This topic should have been a whole book but I have made it so short that you won't have to read a so long article: it's concise and straight to point. Lord we receive Your word again today.

Water baptism!

Here is what the man I call the Father of water baptism has to say concerning his pivotal baptism ministry. I mean John the Baptist.

And as the people were in expectation, and all men mused in their hearts of John, whether he were the Christ, or not; John answered, saying unto [them] all, I indeed baptize you with water; but one mightier than I cometh, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to unloose: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire:

God's Salvation Plan - Topical Index

GSP Series: “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy” Explained – salvation for All 13

For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. (Romans 9:15 KJV)

On whom will God have mercy? On whom will God have compassion?

This scripture is one of the scriptural portions I see that have been so much misconstrued; distorted so much that it has begun to mean just the opposite of the intended message. Hmm!

For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. (Romans 9:15 KJV)

This verse is intended to call for rest, but too much work is interpreted of it today. It says God has irreversibly made up His mind “on whom I will have mercy”, yet people read it and struggle to force their way into God having mercy on them. God is saying I do not make open admission into my school of mercy: enrolment is strictly by invitation. No cry, no human exertion can make mercy! It is not open unto discussion or negotiation. Admission is closed.

What is sin against the Holy Ghost? What is the unpardonable sin?

Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come. (Matthew 12:31-32)

This passage of scripture is often not understood, misunderstood, or ignored for confusion. What is the sin against the Holy Ghost as described by Jesus? The sin is said to be unpardonable; so let me know it so I can avoid it. So here we go. Father we open your hearts to receive enlightenment from Your word. Amen!

Can we see how others render this same word that Jesus spoke?

GSP Series: "Jacob I loved, Esau I hated" Explained (Part II) - Salvation for all (12)

As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated. (Romans 9:13 KJV)
I have loved you, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? [Was] not Esau Jacob's brother? saith the LORD: yet I loved Jacob, And I hated Esau, and laid his mountains and his heritage waste for the dragons of the wilderness. (Malachi 1:2-3 KJV)

I said in the previous part (Jacob I loved, Esau I hated Part II) that God is not sentimental with people. He is not biased. I also explained how that Esau I loved, Jacob I hated, is not a contradiction but a strong point to teach how that God is no respecter of persons.  I hope you followed well. You may go back and read it and come back so you would catch up with the class.

So amazing that Jacob I loved, Esau I hated explains God’s fairness. God isn’t sentimental, this I can re-emphasize with this same scripture. “As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated." (Romans 9:13 KJV). Jehovah said “I love Jacob” even before he was born! You may not like the teaching of predestination, election and the likes except you understand them to be in the past tense and also know that they are to your favour and to the favour of all, forming a picture of an unbiased Referee of the universe.

GSP Series: "Jacob I loved, Esau I hated" Explained – salvation for all 11

So far in this Salvation for All Series, you would have learnt many things which would have made you shed off the nepotistic, tribalistic, favouritish, bigoted view of and about God. Yet there might be questions unanswered in your hearts: “but… but… but why then did the bible says…” So today’s edition would answer that.
Jacob I loved…

Here is a text which in its imperfect interpretation has successfully presented a notion that God really still do have favourites. Some will even say, “well, today God is changing; unlike before in the old testament when He would just focus on His selected few, them whom God will nurse as the apple of His eyes, and jealously slay any trespasser; whereas He cares less about others not in His caucus”. Well! My answer to that is this: we know one thing that working with caucuses, judging with partiality, we have preaches against it and in fact we would not have known it to be evil but for that same God who taught us. Now, He that teaches that a man should not be partial, would He have been partial? Furthermore, we know that God is unchangeable. If heaven and earth should perish and be changed, He remains says the scriptures. “They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment; And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the SAME, and thy years shall not fail. (Hebrews 1:11-12 KJV)”

GSP Series: Salvation is for all 10 - But who is God's Elect? II

Aim: understanding God’s plan of salvation

Yes! what is to be rightly interpreted then as “elect of God”? who are the ones God has pre-ordained unto salvation? Are there people who have been predestined to believe the gospel?

In the previous section (Who is God's Elect? I), we have seen how that Jesus says in Luke 18:7 that the man whom God will avenge if he attempts to pray is “His own elect”. Now let’s continue to understand electship.

Today we’ll see electhood in Christ Jesus. That is, Jesus is the Elect of God actually, and in next section we’ll see how we borrow from Him our electhood.

GSP Series: Salvation is For All 9 - But who is God’s Elect?

Aim: understanding God’s plan of salvation

Yes! what is to be rightly interpreted then as “elect of God”? who are the ones God has pre-ordained unto salvation? Are there people who have been predestined to believe the gospel?

Well, if you have been following our series on salvation is for all, you would have known the answer by now: “all flesh”. How it is, is what we want to see now.

There is a certain word often found in the Bible which I think itself is the origin and backbone of this favouritism policy. That word is “elect”.
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the ELECT's sake those days shall be shortened. (Matthew 24:22 KJV)

GSP Series: Salvation is For All 8 - God loved, thought, and planned for ALL FLESH

Meanwhile we check the scriptures and can find that God planned a way out of the human crisis as we said in the part 1 of salvation is for all. When God would pay the bail, He paid by the blood of His Jesus, and not for selected individuals, not for Israelites, not for Peter and the Apostles, not for Jesus family, not for those who could pray, but for what the bible termed “all flesh”. Thank God “all flesh” was used: because it seems to portray well the unmeritedness and baseness of the people to whom it is meant for.

And all flesh shall see the salvation of God. Luke 3:6

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Act 2:17

No sentimental approach to God. Stop playing M.O.G.-ism (Clergy-ism)

Because more of the ways of God have been expounded to you more, you fall into the temptation of calling God as though He is for you only. Because you have advantaged above others, don’t play the MOG (Man of God)! Don’t say “na we dey there, no other again”. Don’t speak like God is caged in your suit that anyone who wants to see God must consult you first. Don’t play clergyism and make others tremble before you.

Jesus says when ye pray “say Our Father…”. It’s not a crime to call God your Father, but always make the people know he is our Father. Jesus says “I ascend to my Father, your Father…” you were a laity when He liked you and made you a clergy, hence He likes the laity as much.

No sentimental approach to God, God does not “like” your face

But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors. James 2:9

A girl may from childhood have repeatedly heard words like “you are so beautiful”, “you are cheeky”, “you have bright eyelids”, “you have attractive teeth gaps” etc. such that these words sink into her sub-conscious minds. I think there is tendency that she carries this mindset into her relationship with God, and in her heart says “God likes me. You know I’m irresistible”. Laughable indeed!

No sentimental approach to God, you cannot win God’s favour!

Aim: to understand God’s plan of salvation, and to by understanding dispel all wrong mindset of God nepotistic, tribalistic, or any discriminative “election” and “predestination” conspiracy.

As we continue in this series, Let’s learn to fight every sentimental approach any church leader or people we term “men of God” like to give us about God. A leader in God’s house must be humble enough to show his followers his ordinariness and simplicity, teaching us how it is God who is working all the mighty things we see through him, and that any man who will be available can do as well. Meek Moses said “I would that all of the Lord’s people were prophets”. And that’s what we want to hear! He call Israel, the Lord’s people, bringing even the weakest of them into relationship with God. Don’t play sentiment of your walk with God! We know God speak to you frequently. We know you pray every hour. We know carry bible all about. We know you see visions often. But never intimidate other younger Christians into confessing they are not really born again! Tell them God speaks to them too, and teach them to walk in greater realms of the Spirit without fear of “what if they know God or do more miracles more than me”!

Favouritism is an act of unrighteousness: God cannot be unrighteous

Aim: to understand God’s plan of salvation, and to by understanding dispel all wrong mindset of God nepotistic, tribalistic, or any discriminative “election” and “predestination” conspiracy.

But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as TRANSGRESSORS. James 2:9

It’s amazing how we believe, receive and teach that God has some people that are special to Him, and some others that He cares not for, and yet others that He just hate for no reason, no matter what they do; when we all know that is being partial. Partiality, we all know is unrighteous. It is numbered amongst our greatest societal crimes today. Favouritism/partiality is what birthed other sins like sexism, racism, nepotism, chauvinism etc. it’s unfair for a leader to treat people preferentially! It’s unfair to judge with respects of persons! It’s sinful, but God cannot sin. Hence, He can’t have favourites. No favourite for salvation! No favourite for damnation! No predestined “son of perdition”!

Declaration: thank You Lord for receiving me. I Thank  You Lord for enlightening my understanding amidst the religious beclouding.  Thank You Lord that now I know, You did not prefer one above me. Glory!

How many heads do you have? That is the number of rights you have with God. How many persons are you? That is your say with God. You think you will carry your “long leg” to God?

God does not answer your prayer “faster”. God is not a gift to one person more than the other. There are no two Holy Ghost! There is no Holy Ghost for men and another inferior type for women. There is no Holy Spirit for the clergy and another less-powerful, easier, simpler one for the laity. No one has a divine connection right more than another. All men are considered equal before God. God does not “elect” some, and cast out some. God does not bless some and reject some. God does not love one and hate the other. He doesn’t choose a man and reject his near kin. He does not adopt a Jew, and repel a Gentile. God is a good God. Peter did not know this in time until Acts 10:34 when he perceived it. Then Peter said, "Now I understand that God doesn't play favorites. He used to think God is for the Jews. Even Jesus at a time had to be facaded into what looked like God only wanted to save the Jews only, when He said “salvation is of the Jews” (John 4:22), and “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (Matthew 15:24), but that was not God’s perfect will, neither His eternal purpose. Thus, when Jesus rose again, He said, “ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” because he is able also to save them to the uttermost. (Hebrews 7:25)

In conclusion, God has no favourite. The Almighty has never had, and never will. Why? He is God! Not a man, not an earthly king who can sentimentally prefer, because humans are bound to like and dislike. He is just.

Declaration: thank You Lord for receiving me. I Thank You Lord for enlightening my understanding amidst the religious beclouding. Thank You Lord that now I know, You did not prefer one above me. Glory!

GSP Series: Salvation for All 2 - God is God of All Flesh, and Lord of ALL

Salvation for All (2)

See the Previous Part
Behold, I [am] the LORD, the GOD OF ALL FLESH: is there anything too hard for me? Jer 32:27

Let the LORD, the God of the spirits of ALL FLESH… Num 27:16

God please help us to shelve this nepotistic view and teaching in certain places. Salvation cannot be reserved for a secluded, pre-concluded, predetermined group of people since none was qualified for it and it can be enjoyed by all. It cannot be reserved for a particular sect of people. Why? God is God of all! He is the creator of us all (for the good and for the bad). That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matt 5:45) He is the Lord of all. Everyone has just one God, not gods. Everyone belong to God. If anyone must call upon their god, it has to be upon God. [Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also: Seeing [it is] ONE GOD… (Romans 3:29-30) Thus, if God must respond to His own creatures, He must respond to ALL MEN.

O You Who hear prayer, to You shall ALL FLESH come. (Psalms 65:2 AMP)
So brother/sister, you equally have a right to God if all flesh does have. God is your God. There are no various gods in existence: there is only God. If you are not serving Him, you are not serving God.

DECLARATION: Thank you Lord for being for me. I praise You for Your righteous judgments and equity. I receive your word. I receive your love. Amen!

Do all speak with tongues? Explained

Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?
(1 Corinthians 12:30 KJV)

This is a verse that may confuse you. “But you people say all can speak with tongues. That is just sheer zeal and it’s not biblical because 1Cor 12:30 says do all peak with tongues?” No. oh sorry! Before you conclude that verse to mean that, why not let’s take it from where the talk really began.

Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. [Are] all apostles? [are] all prophets? [are] all teachers? [are] all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret? But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way. (1 Corinthians 12:27-31 KJV)
God by order set in the church, apostles, prophets, teachers, after that miracles… diversities of tongues. So are all apostles? No! Are all prophets? No! Contextually, Paul is saying, administratively, all cannot be in control of the body at the same time, so God did that setting in the church that there be no schisms in the body. So Paul is only talking about ministry gifts here.

In administration, submissiveness is the key. That you are placed above me does not mean I cannot do what you are appointed to do, just that I am not called into that officially and that does not call for envy speaking or rude speech but submitting one to another in the fear of God. So we can read that verse again and answer this way. Are all apostles? No. but can any follow as a messenger in the assignment God has called him into? Yes! Are all prophets? No. Can any minister prophetically as occasion demands? Yes! Are all teachers? No. Can every Christian teach the word of God? In fact, Jesus called us to go “teaching them to observe…” (Matt 28:20). Are all workers of miracle? No, (in the sense of ministry). But can all work miracles? Yes! “these signs shall follow them that believe”. Have all the gifts of healing? No (in the sense of ministry). But any Christian can minister healing. What about help? All must help one another in one way or the other or at one stage of ministry or another, yet there is a ministry of help. So it is with tongues. All Christians can speak with tongues and all must. As we have shown in previous articles, how ALL responded to the Holy Spirit in beginning to speak as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Next we shall begin to examine the MUST of speaking in tongues. Why is it essential? Why must I be restless from this day if I’m not able to speak in tongues. Why must I desire this Holy Ghost experience? Just keep posted, or even subscribe for our updates to receive alerts for subsequent posts.

Everybody can be baptised in the Holy Ghost, All can speak in tongues

I would that ye all spake with tongues (1 Corinthians 14:5 KJV)

In case you have read the above text, and have interpreted it to mean, “I wish that ye all speak with tongues”, that is, Paul would have loved it if everyone could speak whereas it’s rarely possible, be patient with the text and probably read again. They say, “if wishes were horses, beggars will ride”. But this is not a dream! A better reading of it reveals that Paul is only saying “I permit that all of you speak in tongues (as you all can) but…” or “I didn’t say you shouldn’t speak in tongues oh Corinthian Church, but what I'm saying is…”

I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater [is] he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying. (1 Corinthians 14:5 KJV)

This is the good news everyone should believe. Bravo! Jesus died! Jesus rose! Jesus prayed the Father, today we have the Holy Ghost because we have identified with Jesus!

And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning. Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as [he did] unto us, WHO BELIEVED ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST; what was I, that I could withstand God? (Acts 11:15-17 KJV)

This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by THE HEARING OF FAITH? (Galatians 3:2 KJV)
He therefore that ministereth to you the SPIRIT, and worketh miracles among you, [doeth he it] by the works of the law, or BY THE HEARING OF FAITH? Even as ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. (Galatians 3:5-6 KJV)

So we reckon that If we can BELIEVE THE GOSPEL, we can receive the Holy Spirit of promise and speak with tongues, magnifying God.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:39 KJV)

Speaking in tongues is not a special gift for a few! All can commune with the Spirit’s utterance!

For the promise is unto YOU, and to YOUR CHILDREN, and TO ALL that are afar off, [even] as MANY as the Lord our God shall call. (Acts 2:39 KJV)

Awesome! For YOU! For your children (or parents as the case may be), and for many afar off who will respond to the call of salvation! Everybody! Males and females alike! Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters, servants and free, as many as will believe!

BELIEVERS will be given the power to perform miracles: they will drive out demons in my name; they will SPEAK IN STRANGE TONGUES; (Mark 16:17 GNB)

And they were ALL filled (diffused throughout their souls) with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other (different, foreign) languages (tongues), as the Spirit kept giving them clear and loud expression [in each tongue in appropriate words]. (Acts 2:4 AMP)
In the house of Cornelius, the man who had freshly received salvation with his household, Peter had not concluded his message, the Holy Ghost had been poured on ALL.

While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on ALL THEM WHICH HEARD THE WORD. And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God… (Acts 10:44-46 KJV)

Please don’t cheat yourself. Don’t resist your privilege! You can speak with tongues says the scriptures. You can receive this ability by either of the following.

  • Seeking for yourself

Several testimonies of people who sought God without any one having to pray for them, and they began to speak with tongues. God is faithful! He will always honour His word.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you. For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if [he ask] a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall [your] heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him? (Luke 11:9-13 KJV)

  • hearing this message and releasing your faith towards it

When you receive the word like this, it stirs up faith. So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17). So when you respond, there is enough faith for receiving. I have heard such testimonies too. You send an article to someone on this subject and that person takes it up, believes and begins to speak. Such was the case of the household of Cornelius. No laying of hands, in fact, no praying. They simply began to speak as “the Holy Ghost fell on all them which HEARD THE WORD” (Acts 10:44). Faith is the keyword here. This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by THE HEARING OF FAITH? (Galatians 3:2 KJV). It’s what actually determine whether you receive or not, no matter which method you employ.

  • Laying of hands

You can proceed to this method if you can’t receive by any of the above methods, no worries at all. The people at Samaria received this way.

Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost: (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) Then LAID THEY [THEIR] HANDS ON THEM, and they received the Holy Ghost. (Acts 8:15-17 KJV)

So dear saint, if God has released this gift to you, it surely means you need it! Take it today! Encourage others to do the same. Recommend our articles to people you know might need them for better enlightenment! You can also translate it for them. Extend the hand of love to someone today! Bless someone today! Teach someone to speak in tongues today! Pray for someone to speak in tongues today! Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. (Galatians 6:6 KJV)
Stay blessed!

Some common misconceptions/wrong teachings that have hindered many from speaking in tongues

I say fanatically, that speaking in tongues is true, it’s scriptural, and it’s contemporary.

It has nothing to do with denomination whether you are Orthodox or Pentecostal or whatever. You simply need to be a Christian to speak in tongues. You simply need to be of a bible-believing denomination, to accept the gospel message of which tongues-speaking is an indispensable part! You don’t become a Pentecostal because you have started to speak! You have not altered the fundamental doctrines of your church if you preach tongue-speaking except your church is not built on biblical doctrines.

Diverse experiences of people that have had to do with some so-called prophets of God might have made them to conclude in unbelief and hence derision of the gifts of God. But you could as well conclude there are no Christians on earth because all Christians around you have proven unchristianly. What a hell-bound hasty generalisation! Have you found fake gifts?

Holy Ghost Baptism: Common hindrances to receiving

I have prayed but I still don’t speak in tongues. What could be wrong with me?

1. Negative mindset

If you have a negative prejudiced mind about tongues-speaking, you could get sceptical or critical against it. You may read our article on The common misconceptions and negative bias people have about speaking in tongues. Such devilish doctrines pollute your mind such that even when you would have started to speak, you are “afraid” that you are not correct; or it seems to you that you are only trying to imitate some regular tongues you hear around. No! you are not imitating! Don’t be afraid yours isn’t so smooth as others, just go on!

What must I do to speak in tongues or be "baptised in the Holy Ghost"?

Yes! Now I agree that tongues-speaking is for everyone that believe sir. But I don’t and I desire to speak in tongues too. Please pray for me. Please what may i do?

Requirements/pre-requisite to Holy Ghost Baptism, in-filling, and the “upon” manifestation

Be born again, be born again, be born again!

The only question I will ask is this:

What is this speaking in tongues? Explain scripturally that i may understand

For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. (Isaiah 28:11 KJV)

Tongues-speaking is speaking in the power of God in an unknown language. It is a wonder of God (Acts 2:11). It is the wisdom of God (1Cor 2:7). It is an expression of our recreated spirit as influenced by the Holy Ghost. It is a product of the New Birth experience (Acts 10:44), i.e. we have it because we believe in Jesus, because we are born again! Thus it is for everyone that believes (Mark 16:17). Thus it can be seen as part of the gospel characteristic: Christ came, Christ died, Christ arose, and He is seated at the right hand of the Father, therefore I can speak in tongues!

When the household of Cornelius heard the gospel message, they spoke in tongues and magnified God! They just could not imagine such a marvellously loving God and the passion of His Christ. They gave heed and blasted out in unknown tongues just as it happened in Acts 2. Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever! (Heb 13:8) He can repeat it again  and again, over and over!

Common Misconceptions about the New Birth or “born again” experience

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

The most common misconceptions people have about born again are the ones that have to do with works. I will highlight some here:
  1. You should DO born again. You must DO a new man. You have a WORK of letting “old things” pass away. It is your WORK to make all things to be new.
This belief seems very innocent and neutral, but it is not the truth of the gospel. It denies the grace of God. Let us re-examine the scripture that talked about being born again.

Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV)

If you have a correct KJV, you will notice the words “be” after “any man” and the word “he is” before “new creature” are both in italics. What does that mean? Those words are not in the original Greek; the translators of the bible added them. Thus we could read: “if any man in Christ, a new creature”. It could sound better like this: “any man in Christ = a new creature” or “any man in Christ is a new creature”. Is there any element of “DO” here? Is there anything to “DO NOT” here? Let’s read it again.
