Many times when we commit a sin, we feel God must be bitter at us, feel The Holy Ghost is angry too. Oh! God is bitter at sin, true! God and sin are enemies, true! But God will have to first reckon on Jesus' appeasing sacrifice and never will the wrath get to you.
*[[1Jn 2:2]] ISV* It is he who is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world’s.
God already said it *[[Exo 12:13]] KJV* ...and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you...
That's why Jesus is called the Prince of Peace. He is our peace, everlasting peace.
*[[Eph 2:14]] KJV* For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
*[[Eph 2:14]] KJV* For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
What about the Holy Spirit? Does He condemn us? Does He forsake us? No! No! He is a Comforter. He comforts and never condemns. A condemner cannot be a comforter. A condemner makes the wound more greivous, a comforter makes it bearable and easier to heal. Now where does the guilt feeling come from?
*[[1Jn 3:20]] KJV* For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things.
So it's our heart that condemns us, not God. God is greater than our hearts and knows us better. He loves us and will not judge us as our heart will do.
Also here,
*[[Heb 10:15]] KJV* Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
*[[Heb 10:16]] KJV* This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
*[[Heb 10:17]] KJV* And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
*[[Heb 10:15]] KJV* Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,
*[[Heb 10:16]] KJV* This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
*[[Heb 10:17]] KJV* And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
So even the Holy Ghost witnesses that our sins and iniquities, He will remember no more. If you think you have a "voice" from the Spirit or "inward witness" that says contrary, please believe not every spirit my brother.
*[[Isa 8:20]] KJV* To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
*[[Isa 8:20]] KJV* To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
We already have a "witness" of the Holy Ghost here from the Bible. Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,... And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. And what the Holy Ghost said here will remain valid and true.
So in conclusion, just as John puts it, Do not sin. And if you do, don't let the devil take advantage of that one sin to build a forsaken mentality in your mind. It's easier to add more sin when you think God's left you. Please do thyself no harm for that sin, rather see Jesus loving you evermore. Do you love Jesus?
